We are proud to Honor our local Service Clubs, including Ishpeming Noon Kiwanis Club, Ishpeming Pioneer Kiwanis Club, Ishpeming Lions, Ishpeming-Negaunee Rotary.
These groups are all volunteer run community service clubs representing the community and giving back to the community.
The Kiwanis Club of Ishpeming has been supporting the greater Ishpeming area community for nearly 70 years. Mostly known for supporting children’s programs, the club has recently completed a major playground project at Lake Bancroft park – in honor of one of their long serving members – Ray Leverton. In addition to the playground project, the Kiwanis Club supports Bay Cliff Health Camp, reading initiatives at the Carnegie Library, Cancer Care of Marquette County, our local Salvation Army and many other worthy causes. Their mission is to “Serve the Children of the World.” The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at noon at Jasper Ridge in Ishpeming.
The Ishpeming Lions Club is all about serving and giving back to the Ishpeming area. We sponsor programs like eye health for kids including eye glass programs we support Bay Cliff health camp for kids. Farm to school is another program and cleaning up along the US41 corridor. We serve our famous cotton candy at several events and sponsor the Santa clause at the Christmas parade. At Italian fest we serve over 400 cannoli’s which are ALMOST WORLD FAMOUS. There is a lot more we do but come see us to find out our club is all about giving back to Ishpeming and all money raised stays right here. Thank you for all your support.
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Locally, Ishpeming Rotary Club has been helping to support many non-profit community organizations programs that offers an array of services that support the Rotary Club values. Most recently, our club has been working with the cities of Ishpeming and Negaunee on the Joint Dock Project. A project that will bring two ADA kayak launches to both ends of Teal Lake.
The Ishpeming Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at 5:30. Please look us up on Facebook or online to contact us should you want to join!
